WHAT IS 35% DEVELOPMENT CHARGES?

 

It is the extra 35% money/payment asked by Bahria town against the actual Launching price of the projects.As per Bahria, it is the additional  construction cost of  infrastructure , road networks , establishing sewerage line system and  underground electric city connection throughout the Bahria Town.

 

WHICH PROJECT WILL SUFFER FROM THIS?

 

These charges are only applicable on projects launched in 2013. Such as Bahria old Residential plots , Bahria Apartment , Bahria Homes and Bahria old Commercial,  As per Market, there are rumors that 35% charges  will be implied on each and every project launched by Bahria Town till date. But that is not true, only Projects launched in 2013 will suffer from this payment plan.

CRITERIA OF PAYMENT;

 

35% development charges are applicable only on projects launched in 2013. Letters were dispatched to customers who had purchased property at that time only, They were asked to pay 35% of the actual payment in 5 years with a 3 month installment plan. The 35% development charges were applicable from 15 of february 2020 and were to be paid by 15 febuary 2025. 

 

INJUSTICE WITH  BAHRIA TOWN ALLOTTEES 

 

Unlike any other developer in pakistan or precisely karachi, Bahria town karachi has always fulfilled and understood the needs of its customers and has emphasised to detail and quality. But unfortunately, over the past year bahria town customers are having a difficult time being loyal to bahria town’s planning and philosophy.  Bahria Town Karachi has been in trouble since 2016 when,acquired from MDA through suspicious transactions. 

 

1. The Supreme Court took up the case of its land a(https://manahilestate.com/bahria-town-karachi-illegal-land-settlement-supreme-court/) 2, Bahria town forcefully demanded members to take possessions of their ready properties.  3. Now they have imposed 35% development charges on projects of 2013. 

 

This caused a serious outrage amongst the customers and they were provoked to take serious actions against bahria’s new policy.



SERIOUS REACTION FROM PEOPLE:

 

After the announcement of the new plan, people were extremely outraged.They were concerned because the country’s economy is already facing a downfall and here malik riaz imposed a decision that would have caused more harm.

 

 Also. people were angry because they had paid these charges while buying the property in 2013 and they didn't want to pay them again. So, they refused to pay the 35% development charges strictly and marched towards Bahria town to record their protest. 

 

The protest got really serious and people started shattering windows and doors of the head office. Police were called to handle the uproar. And the protest was called off.
